Over 12,000 Out of Power Following Hurricane Michael

Hurricane force winds and torrential rains from Hurricane Michael tore through the co-op's three-county service area leaving trees and power lines in its wake and some 12,152 Pea River consumer-members without power.  Many of the co-op's substations were out after the storm passed through.  This means over 60% of our system was without power at the height of the storm.

Pea River Co-op line crews will be joined by over 70 line crews from fellow Alabama electric cooperatives and some contract right-of-way crews in helping with the restoration efforts.

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we work to restore power in these next few days.  Rest assured we will try to get power restored as quickly as possible to everyone on our system but damages and outages of this magnitude take more time to restore.

You may monitor our restoration progress through our outage map on the homepage of our website at  Outages are listed by county.
